The roots of agricultural education in Peshawar can be traced back to 1933 when it was introduced as part of the curriculum at Islamia College. However, it wasnt until 1957-58, following the establishment of Peshawar University, that the College of Agriculture was founded, offering the B.Sc. Agriculture Degree Program. This marked a significant shift, as the old four-year degree program was replaced with a revised curriculum.

In 1963, the College of Agriculture relocated to a new building, initiating M.Sc. Honors agriculture classes in seven different disciplines. It wasnt until 1974 that the College of Agriculture was upgraded to the status of a Faculty of Agriculture, and later, the University of Agriculture, Peshawar Ordinance, 1981 elevated it to a full-fledged university.

Each program has specific eligibility criteria, primarily requiring a minimum of 45% marks in SSC and HSSC or equivalent qualifications in relevant subjects.

Admission Process

To apply for admission to these programs, starting from September 28, 2023.

Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- or Rs. 500/- for each additional category at any branch of Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan.

Complete the application form, attach attested copies of required documents, and include the original bank receipt.

Submit the hard-copy of the application form to the Directorate of Teaching, University of Agriculture, Peshawar, on or before October 20, 2023.

Candidates applying for reserved seats should also submit a nomination letter from the nominating agencies by the same deadline.

Merit-Based Admissions

Admission to Bachelor Degree Programs at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, is granted based on merit, which is determined by the combined percentage of marks obtained in SSC 40% weight and HSSC or equivalent 60% weight. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen program.
