Student Merit Scholarship Approved by CM Punjab
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz presided over a special meeting and approved the Student Merit Scholarship for deserving students. The Merit Scholarship will be awarded to 25,000 students. The Punjab government will cover all educational expenses for these 25,000 students over a four-year degree program. The government has allocated a budget of PKR 100 billion for this initiative.
The Chief Minister also approved cash prizes for the position holders of all BISEs in Punjab. The teachers of these position holders will also receive cash prizes.
Undergraduate students enrolled in all public sector universities are eligible to apply. Additionally, students attending eight selected private universities will be eligible to receive a 100% scholarship, which will be awarded based on merit.

On the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a transport program for female students is also being launched. The government will provide buses to 60 girls colleges across various districts of Punjab under the Chief Minister Transport Program in the first phase. This program will be expanded to cover all districts of Punjab in the next phase.
The establishment of an IT hub has also been approved. The Chief Minister instructed immediate steps to create this IT hub and directed that the laptop scheme be initiated as soon as possible to ensure laptops are provided to students.
