Empowerment through Skills: A New Initiative for Persons with Disabilities in Sindh open admission 2024

The Government of Sindh, through its Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities DEPD, in collaboration with the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority STEVTA, is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity aimed at empowering persons with disabilities PWDs through skill development. This initiative focuses on providing vocational training and enhancing employability for individuals with disabilities, ensuring a more inclusive workforce.

Key Programs Offered

1. CCTE-Sino-Pak Dual Diploma Programme 2+1

This unique program consists of two years of training in Pakistan followed by one year at Chinese institutes. It includes various technical disciplines to provide PWDs with international exposure and skills.

2. Three-Year Diploma of Associate Engineering DAE

The DAE program covers several fields, including:

Civil

Mechanical

Electrical

Electronics

Chemical

Biomedical

3. Two-Year Diploma in Commerce D.Com

This program aims to equip students with essential commerce skills, preparing them for various roles in the business sector.

4. National Vocational Certificate NVC Programme / Competency Based Training CBT

Offering Level-2 and Level-3 vocational certificates in multiple trades, this program focuses on practical skills and employability.

Admission Details

Applications are now open for the academic session 2024-25. A special quota of 6% 1310 seats is reserved for PWDs across all programs. Interested candidates can apply through the prescribed admission form, available at any STEVTA institute or via the STEVTA website.

Eligibility Criteria

For DAE and NVC Programs: Candidates must have completed Matriculation Technical or Science with a minimum of 40% marks. The maximum age limit is 35 years for regular candidates and 45 years for self-help seats.

For D.Com: Matric Technical, Science, or Arts or equivalent qualifications are acceptable with the same age criteria.

Workplace-Based Training: Internships and industrial visits ensure practical experience.

Career Counseling: Participants receive guidance on career opportunities and pathways.
