Sindh continues to face matric question paper leak issues
Examination papers for several subjects, including Islamiyat, physics, economics, and biology, have been leaked in various cities across Sindh. The physics paper for the 10th grade was allegedly shared on WhatsApp just before the examination began in Larkana on Friday. Similar incidents were reported in Khairpur, Nawabshah, and Kandiaro, further exacerbating the issue. The district administration has come under fire for its lack of action in addressing these leaks. In Khairpur, the Islamiyat paper was leaked via a WhatsApp group before the exam began, while in Kandiaro, the biology paper for 10th grade was also compromised during the annual exams conducted by the BISE Shaheed Benazirabad.
Reports from Naushero Feroze suggest that students were openly using mobile phones in exam halls to access answers through WhatsApp, highlighting the widespread cheating culture. In Nawabshah, three papers—Biology, Computer Science, and Economics—were leaked and distributed via WhatsApp groups.
Sources indicated the presence of a cheating syndicate, known as the "bootie mafia," which allegedly charged students Rs1,000 each for access to the leaked papers. Students were seen openly using their phones, diminishing the credibility of the examination process.
Despite the enforcement of Section 144, which prohibits gatherings, many unauthorized individuals were observed loitering outside exam centers. Raiding teams responsible for curbing cheating were reportedly inactive, choosing to remain in their offices while the situation worsened.
