Schools to Introduce New Subject Groups For Grade 9
Government and private schools across Rawalpindi have rolled out six new subject groups for Class 9 admissions, starting from the academic year 2025–26. The initiative aims to offer students more focused academic choices aligned with modern educational needs and career paths. Students Given Time to Finalize Subject Choices
As part of the admission process, students transitioning from Grade 8 will be provided complete details of the new groups along with their admission forms. They will have three days to consult with their parents before selecting their preferred academic stream.
Commencement of Classes and Group Details
The classes for these newly introduced subject combinations are scheduled to begin on April 11. The streams available to students now include: Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Health Science, Agriculture, Fashion Designing, and Arts—each designed to cater to diverse academic interests and future opportunities.
Common Subjects Across All Streams
Regardless of the chosen stream, every group will include five compulsory subjects: Translation of the Quran, English, Urdu, Islamiat, and Pakistan Studies. These subjects are standardized to ensure a balanced and culturally rooted education for all students.
Subject Combinations by Stream
Here’s a breakdown of the subject distribution for each group:
- Natural Science: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Computer Science: Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Health Science: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Health Science
- Agriculture: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science
