Severe Weather Impacting Multiple Areas
An official notification from the Education Department confirmed that ongoing snowfall and rain continue to affect Murree, Galiyat, and nearby regions. Areas such as Nathia Gali, Ayubia, Thandiani, and Changla Gali are also experiencing power outages.
Efforts to Clear Roads and Restore Services
Shahrukh Ali, Director General of the Galiyat Development Authority, stated that relief operations are in progress. Road clearance teams are actively working to reopen the main highway connecting Abbottabad and Murree.
Restrictions on Tourist Entry
Due to the harsh weather, authorities have imposed restrictions on tourist entry and advised travelers to avoid visiting the area. Security personnel are stationed at checkpoints to prevent vehicles from proceeding.
Rescue and Relief Operations Underway
The Pakistan Meteorological Department PMD had earlier forecasted rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the region from March 2 to 4. Meanwhile, officials have assured that rescue teams are assisting stranded individuals and working to restore access to affected locations.
