QAU Among Top 500 in 2025 World University Rankings

The Times Higher Education THE World University Rankings 2025 have evaluated over 2,000 universities from 115 countries, marking a significant 9.7% increase in the number of ranked institutions compared to last year’s 6% rise. Pakistans Representation in Global Rankings
Pakistan boasts 47 universities in the 2025 rankings, positioning it as the 14th most-represented country worldwide, alongside Taiwan. Quaid-i-Azam University, the highest-ranked Pakistani institution, remains in the 401-500 band, maintaining its status from the previous year.

Shifts in Pakistani Universities Rankings
While eight Pakistani universities secured positions in the 601-800 band, an increase from last year, only seven institutions improved their rankings, and ten experienced declines. University of Malakand advanced to the 601-800 band, while Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan slipped. Sukkur IBA University made its debut in this band as a newly ranked institution.

Asias Performance in the 2025 Rankings

In Asia, 853 universities from 35 countries were ranked this year. With 47 institutions listed, Pakistan ranks as the sixth most-represented country on the continent. The 2025 World University Rankings, the most comprehensive to date, assessed universities based on 18 performance indicators, focusing on teaching, research, knowledge exchange, and international reach.
