PWWF Scholarships for COMSATS Empowering Laborers Children




Punjab Workers Welfare Board PWWB is offering valuable full scholarships for laborers and miners, as well as their children, to pursue single-degree programs at COMSATS Lahore and Comsats Islamabad Campus. COMSATS has reserved a 30% quota in all single-degree programs specifically for workers and their children. This initiative aims to provide educational opportunities and financial assistance to deserving individuals within the labor community. In collaboration with the Labor Department of the Government of Punjab, the PWWB covers tuition fees, hostel fees, and transportation costs for the selected scholarship recipients. Scholarship Details:

Eligibility Criteria: 
To be eligible for the PWWB COMSATS Scholarship, workers must meet the following criteria:
Qualified as a labor department worker as defined in the Industrial Relations Act of 2010.
Possess a valid social security card.
Have a minimum of one year of work experience in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.
Organizations are considered factories if they meet the definition specified in the Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.
Children of deceased/disabled workers may also apply, provided the worker/miner was deceased/disabled during service, registered under the EOBI/Social Security, and received Death Grant from Punjab Workers Welfare Board or pensions from the EOBI/Social Security.
Neither the worker/miner nor their child seeking admission should be involved in any illegal activity or criminal proceedings.

Application Process: 
Interested candidates should apply for the scholarship when submitting their admission application form for any Single Degree Program at COMSATS. The following documents must be submitted along with the application:
Worker/miners CNIC
Worker/miners Social Security Card/Old Age Benefit Card
Worker/miners Factory Card/Employee Card stating their designation
Worker/miners Appointment Letter
Factory Registration Certificate under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923
CNIC/Family Registration Certificate issued by NADRA for the prospective student
Worker/miners Service Certificate and a certificate of good moral conduct
A signed affidavit on Rs. 20 Stamp Paper, affirming the commitment to repay all educational expenditures to the Labor Department if the education is discontinued
In the case of a deceased/disabled worker/miner, proof of receiving a Death Grant/Disability Pension
Award and Scholarship Continuation: 
The PWWB COMSATS Scholarship is awarded for a maximum of 8 semesters or the duration of the students respective degree program. If a student repeats a course or semester, they are responsible for depositing the dues as per COMSATS rules and regulations.
By providing this scholarship, the PWWB and COMSATS aim to empower laborers and their children to access quality education, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations and contribute to their personal growth and the nations development.
