The Punjab Workers Welfare Board PWWB extends a significant opportunity to laborers, miners, and their offspring by offering full scholarships for all degree programs at COMSATS Lahore and Islamabad Campuses under the PWWF initiative. Scholarship Application Deadlines:

The deadline for applying to the COMSATS Worker Welfare Fund Scholarships is December 20, 2023, for the Islamabad Campus and December 29 for the Lahore Campus. Labour Quota admission seats are available across various campuses, including Islamabad, Lahore, Attock, Wah, Sahiwal, and Vehari.


Financial Coverage:

The Labour Department of the Government of Punjab shoulders all expenses for students under the PWWB Quota. The PWWB Scholarship comprehensively covers tuition fees, hostel fees, and transportation costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the PWWB COMSATS Scholarship, the worker must meet the following criteria:


  • Be officially recognized as a labor department worker as per the definition in the Industrial Relations Act of 2010.

  • Possess a valid social security card.

  • Have a minimum work experience of 1 year in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.

  • The organization should meet the definition of a factory as outlined in the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.

  • Children of deceased/disabled workers are eligible if the worker/miner was deceased/disabled during service, registered under EOBI/Social Security, and his/her widow/legal heir received Death Grant from Punjab Workers’ Welfare Board or pension from EOBI/Social Security.

  • The worker/miner or their child seeking admission should have no involvement in any illegal activity or criminal proceedings.


Application Process:

Candidates applying for this scholarship at the time of admission to all Single Degree Programs are required to submit the following documents:


  • Worker/miner’s CNIC.

  • Worker/miner’s Social Security Card/Old Age Benefit Card.

  • Worker/miner’s Factory Card/Employee Card indicating designation.

  • Worker/Miner’s Appointment Letter.

  • Factory Registration Certificate under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.

  • CNIC/Family Registration Certificate issued by NADRA of the prospective student.

  • Worker/miner’s Service Certificate and a certificate on good moral conduct.

  • Candidates signed affidavit on Rs. 20 Stamp Paper, committing to repay educational expenditures if education is discontinued.

  • In the case of a deceased/disabled worker/miner, proof of receiving Death Grant/Disability Pension.


Scholarship Continuation:

This scholarship is provided for a maximum of 8 semesters or the maximum duration of the student’s respective degree program. In case of course or semester repetition, students must adhere to CIIT rules and regulations regarding dues deposition.
