Punjab Revises School Timings for Summer Season
The Punjab government has decided to shorten school hours by 30 minutes during the summer season, with the new schedule in effect from April 7 to October 15. The students can get the latest updates of Punjab Revises School Timings for Summer Season.
As per a notification from the School Education Department SED, single-shift schools will now operate from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will conclude at 11:30 AM. Previously, schools remained open until 1:30 PM during summer.
For double-shift schools, the morning session will run from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays and from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Fridays. The evening session will be held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, it will be from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
To ensure compliance, District Education Authority DEA CEOs have been directed to strictly implement the revised school timings in summer. Schools failing to adhere to the new schedule may face legal consequences.
Additionally, the notification allows a 15-minute flexibility in school opening and closing hours for boys’ and girls’ schools, based on local circumstances.
