Punjab Launches Scholarship Program for Students Nationwide
Punjab Chief Minister Sharif has approved the Honhaar Scholarship program, extending its benefits to students from all provinces across Pakistan. During a meeting, she also announced an increase in the number of laptops for Punjab students to 110,000 and instructed the creation of a dedicated helpline for scholarship recipients. Equal Opportunities for All Students
The eligibility criteria for students from other provinces will mirror those in Punjab, requiring a minimum of 65% marks to qualify for a laptop. CM emphasized that scholarships and laptops are fundamental rights for students and a key responsibility of the government. She highlighted that education and youth development are vital investments for the country’s future.
Inclusive Support for Students Nationwide
She stressed that students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are equally deserving of these opportunities. She assured that the government would cover the fees of merit-based students admitted to reputable colleges, ensuring no deserving candidate is left behind due to financial constraints.
Commitment to Merit and Accessibility
The Chief Minister reiterated that funding would not be an obstacle to student welfare programs and that the same standards applied in Punjab would be extended to students from other regions. Additionally, the meeting approved the organization of a one-day Vice-Chancellors’ Conference and a Tech Expo in Punjab to further promote educational and technological advancement.
