Punjab Govt Introduces New Subjects at Matric & Inter Levels
Higher Education Department of the Government of Punjab has taken a significant step by deciding to add 7 to 10 new subjects at both the Matric and Intermediate levels. These subjects will form a new subject group called "Professional," which will complement the existing Science, Arts, Pre-medical, Pre-engineering, and other groups offered to students. Starting from the next academic year, students will have the option to choose the new "Professional" group, which has been designed to cater to the demands of the global employment market. By introducing practical knowledge of cutting-edge technologies utilized worldwide, this initiative aims to equip students with valuable skills that will lead to better employment prospects after completing Matric and Intermediate levels.
The new subjects to be introduced include food technology, agricultural technology, mobile application development, and more. To ensure effective teaching and learning, new teachers will also be recruited specifically for these subjects.
The primary objective behind this move is to enable students to enter the job market at an earlier stage, providing them with specialized skills and expertise. This initiative is not restricted to any gender; it will be made available to both male and female students.
