One of the key initiatives is the CM Education Card, which will digitize school records and enhance the learning experience for students. To honor academic excellence, students securing over 80% marks will receive the CM Star Card, granting them various privileges and educational benefits.

During a high-level meeting on school education policies, the government reported remarkable success in its decision to outsource certain schools. This strategic move has led to a 52% rise in student enrollment and an 89% increase in teaching staff.

Massive Improvements in Schools Under Reorganization Program

Under the Public School Reorganization Program, the student population in government schools has surged from 242,000 to 368,000, while the number of teachers has grown from 8,037 to 15,114. The Punjab government has also tripled teacher salaries and upgraded school infrastructure, providing over 523,000 desks and chairs to improve learning conditions.

State-of-the-Art Schools and Technical Education

To ensure modern, high-quality education is available in every district, the government plans to launch Schools of Eminence in each tehsil of Punjab. Additionally, technical education will be introduced from grade five, integrating advanced subjects such as ICT, engineering fundamentals, and vocational skills.

In another major initiative, a Matric Tech Lab will be established, offering hands-on technical training to students at the secondary level. The Punjab Textbook Board has also implemented cost-saving measures, reducing expenses by one billion rupees, ensuring more efficient resource allocation.

Enrollment Targets and Welfare Programs

The government has set an ambitious target of two million new enrollments per year. To support underprivileged students, a school meal program will be launched in select districts like Bhakkar and Layyah, improving student nutrition and attendance rates.

A new performance monitoring system for teachers and education officers will be introduced, based on Key Performance Indicators KPIs. The CM has also prioritized English language proficiency, launching spoken English classes in 338 Lahore schools, with future plans for internationally recognized certification programs.

Enhancing Safety and Infrastructure Development

Road safety around schools will be improved with mandatory zebra crossings and strict traffic management. In a historic move, students received textbooks at the start of the academic session in March, ensuring uninterrupted learning.

With support from the British Council, five government school teachers will travel to Scotland for an educational exchange program, gaining international exposure to modern teaching methodologies.

Expanding Educational Capacity

The Nawaz Sharif Center of Excellence for Early Childhood Education is undergoing expansion, increasing its capacity from 250 to 1,200 students. The CM also applauded Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat for enrolling his child in a government-run Early Childhood Education Centre, setting an example for others.

Mass Recruitment and Infrastructure Upgrades

The School Teacher Internship Program will recruit 12,500 interns, strengthening the teaching workforce across Punjab. Recent outsourcing projects have led to the construction of new classrooms and the renovation of existing school buildings, ensuring modern learning spaces.

Additionally, community-funded computer labs have been established, benefiting students across 2,000 Matric Tech schools, where they can explore courses in fashion design, agriculture, health sciences, and ICT.

The selection process for 287 key education officers has been finalized, with personal interviews conducted by the Education Minister to ensure transparency and merit-based appointments.

Environmental and Long-Term Development Goals

Under the One Plant, One Teacher’s Name Initiative, two million trees have been planted, fostering environmental awareness. Looking ahead, the Punjab government has committed to building 30,000 new classrooms, 600 elementary schools, and 400 high schools over the next five years, cementing its vision for a brighter educational future.
