PBCC SSC & HSSC Exams Revised Paper Pattern

PBCC SSC & HSSC Exams Revised Paper Pattern

Lahore, Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen PBCC has recently announced a change in the paper pattern for the upcoming 9th, 10th, 1st-year, and 2nd-year exams. This decision was made during a meeting held on June 15th, 2023. A notification has been issued to inform all relevant stakeholders about the revised paper pattern, which emphasizes analytical and conceptual questions. The candidates can get the detailed information regarding PBCC SSC & HSSC Exams Revised Paper Pattern.

Implementation of Syndicate Marking System:

One of the key decisions taken during the PBCC meeting is the adoption of the syndicate marking system. This new system will be implemented starting from the 2nd Annual 2023 Examinations for both SSC Matric and HSSC Intermediate conducted by all the BISEs Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Punjab.

Incorporation of Analytical/Conceptual Questions:

To enhance the quality of assessment, it has been decided that 25% of the total marks in all subject papers for the 1st Annual 2024 exams both SSC and HSSC will consist of analytical and conceptual questions. In order to implement this change effectively, the BISEs will organize meetings with paper setters to develop ten model papers for each subject as soon as possible. These model papers will be shared with teachers at the class level to ensure that both teachers and students are well prepared for this new format in the upcoming exams.

Promoting Understanding of Blooms Taxonomy:

In line with the revised paper pattern, the PBCC has also emphasized the importance of paper setters having a thorough understanding of Blooms Taxonomy. Paper setters without a command of Blooms Taxonomy will not be appointed, ensuring that the assessment aligns with the desired cognitive levels and encourages critical thinking among students.

The PBCCs decision to introduce changes in the paper pattern for matric and intermediate exams aims to improve the current education and assessment system in Punjab. By incorporating analytical and conceptual questions and implementing the syndicate marking system, the PBCC seeks to enhance the overall quality of assessment and promote a deeper understanding of the subjects among students. These changes will be implemented from the 2nd Annual 2023 Examinations, and model papers will be provided to teachers and students to facilitate their preparation for the upcoming exams.
