Pak Universities in Times Higher Education World Young University Rankings 2024

The latest edition of the Times Higher Education THE World’s Young University Rankings 2024 has highlighted the presence of Pakistani universities on the international stage. Among the 76 Pakistani universities featured in the rankings, 33 have secured official ranks, while the rest have been acknowledged as reporters on the list. Despite this significant representation, Pakistans absence from the top 100 underscores the challenges confronting its higher education sector. The list of Pakistani universities making waves in the Young University Rankings comprises those institutions aged 50 years or younger. Alongside the 33 ranked universities, others have been accorded the status of Reporter due to their submission of data, although they did not meet the eligibility criteria for a rank.

Global Leaders and Trends
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore has maintained its position at the helm of the league table for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, Hong Kong retains a strong presence in the top 10, though individual university performances exhibit variability. Notably, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has slipped to third place, while the City University of Hong Kong has ascended to fourth place.

International Dynamics

Frances leading institutions have demonstrated improvement, with Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris advancing to second place. Turkey leads the rankings with the highest number of institutions listed at 58, followed closely by India with 55 and Iran with 46 universities. The global representation expands further, encompassing 79 territories, with Ghana and Peru making their debut appearances.
