O level Fees in Pakistan 2023

O level Fees in Pakistan 2023

The announcement of Cambridge Assessment International Education regarding 16% increase in exam registration fees per subject for its upcoming examination series has created the havoc and frustration among parents and students in Pakistan. The UK-based provider of international qualifications, widely relied upon by Pakistans private education sector, which faced criticism from 85,000 students and their families who are struggling as they are facing the rising inflation.

Local reports suggest that the increase in fees will cost about Rs.10,000 per session for standard O Level 10th grade students, who pick Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies, and Urdu exams, and an increase of almost Rs.15,000 per session for 11th grade students, who take five subjects, including English, Mathematics, and the three natural sciences. A-Level students will face a total fee increase of around Rs.6,000 for three standard natural science subjects and the students and parents can watch their O level Fees in Pakistan 2023.

Many parents have shown their hopelessness over fee hike, pointing out that Pakistans public education system is not equipped with such education standard to impart internationally recognized education to local students. Education experts in Pakistan have also criticized the fee increase, arguing that CAIEs monetary policies do not consider the countrys specific socio-economic circumstances, greatly multiplying the financial burden on students and their families.

CAIE responded to the hostile response by stating that their fee in Pakistan is the lowest in the world and that the increase was necessary to maintain the quality of their programs. The organization claimed that they know the current economic conditions in Pakistan and that the increase in the fee was much less than the prevailing rate of inflation.
