NUMS Reveals MDCAT 2024 Schedule

The National University of Medical Sciences NUMS has officially announced the registration schedule for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test MDCAT 2024. This test is essential for gaining admission to NUMS-affiliated medical and dental colleges. Registration opens on Thursday, June 20, 2024, and closes on July 10, 2024. Test Locations and Fees

The NUMS MDCAT 2024 will be administered both in Pakistan and at international centers, specifically in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia KSA. Specific test timings for international centers will be indicated on the admit cards. Candidates can choose their preferred city for the test from the available options.

Online Registration Start Date: June 20, 2024

Exam Fee Pakistan: PKR 5200/-

Exam Fee International Centers: PKR 32000/-

NUMS will conduct the Medical Entrance Test for admissions to MBBS and BDS programs in affiliated public and private sector colleges on September 1, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed their intermediate/HSSC Pre-Medical Group or an equivalent examination e.g., A-Level, 12th Grade. Those awaiting results are also eligible to apply. However, merely appearing in the NUMS MDCAT does not guarantee admission.

Exam Syllabus and Pattern

The NUMS MDCAT 2024 syllabus is available on the NUMS website. Candidates are advised to prepare according to this syllabus using their textbooks. The MDCAT comprises two parts:

Part A: This section carries 95% weightage and includes 150 MCQs to be completed in 150 minutes. The breakdown is as follows:

Biology: 35%

Chemistry: 25%

Physics: 25%

English: 10%

Part B: A psychological test consisting of 100 MCQs, to be completed in 30 minutes.

The total duration of the test is 150 minutes, with a total of 200 marks. There is no negative marking. After the main test, candidates will take a mandatory 30-minute aptitude test, which will not affect the merit order.
