New Dates Announced for Postponed Inter Exams in Karachi
Board of Intermediate Education Karachi BIEK has officially announced the postponement of the 2025 annual intermediate exams. Initially set to begin on April 28, the exams will now commence on May 5, 2025, as per a statement issued on Saturday. Reasons Behind the Postponement
The delay in the exam schedule is due to two primary factors: the ongoing process of granting grace marks to first-year students who appeared for the 2024 intermediate exams, and the continued use of various examination centers in Karachi for matriculation exams, which began on April 8 and will continue until May 8.
Ensuring a Smooth Examination Process
BIEK officials assured students that the revised dates aim to ensure a smoother and more organized examination process, as well as the availability of exam centers for all students. The board has promised to release a new date sheet shortly and urged both students and their parents to adjust their preparations to align with the updated schedule.
Grace Marks for First-Year Students
In a related development, the Sindh Assembly’s parliamentary committee has decided to grant grace marks to first-year students who were unsuccessful in their exams. This decision follows a report highlighting discrepancies in the board’s examination system. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced that students who failed in Physics and Mathematics will receive 15% grace marks, while those who failed Chemistry will be awarded 20% grace marks. This move aims to support students who performed well in their matriculation exams but struggled in the intermediate exams.
