Matric Board Exams 2025 in Karachi to Start April 8

Matric Board Exams 2025 in Karachi to Start April 8

The annual matriculation examinations for grades 9 and 10 under the Karachi Matriculation Board are set to commence on April 8, 2025.

In an exclusive discussion with ‘tv channel’, Zaheer Bhutto, Controller of Examinations at the Board of Secondary Education Karachi, revealed that extensive measures have been put in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination process. These efforts align with directives issued by the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Sharaf Ali Shah, to curb malpractice and maintain integrity.

Approximately 379,000 students are expected to appear for the examinations under the BSEK. The responsibility of distributing the examination papers has been assigned to board officers, who will provide the sealed packets to the designated center superintendents.

This year, about 520 examination centers have been established, primarily in government schools. However, schools lacking essential furniture have not been included. Additionally, a special examination center has been set up within the Central Jail.
Science papers will be conducted in two sessions at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Nineteen hub centers have been established across 18 towns in Karachi, while sensitive examination centers have been identified in five towns: Landhi, Lyari, Orangi, Baldia, and Keamari.

To uphold examination standards, a robust monitoring mechanism has been implemented. Officials from the Education Department, including Directors of Schools, Additional Directors, Deputy Directors, and District Education Officers, will be part of the vigilance teams. Additionally, around 20 high-level vigilance teams comprising senior board officers and experienced teachers will oversee the process.

Strict restrictions have been imposed on mobile phone usage within examination centers. Furthermore, a formal request will be made to the Commissioner of Karachi for enforcing a ban on photostat machines near examination centers under Section 144. Additionally, K-Electric will be contacted to ensure uninterrupted power supply during exams.

For the convenience of students and teachers, the board has uploaded online computerized roll no slips on BESK Portal. Schools in Sindh encountering difficulties in accessing roll number slips 2025 can visit Room No. 24 at the board office to obtain them by presenting the required identification documents.
