King Edward Medical University KEMU, Lahore, has officially opened the admissions for its MS, MD, and MDS programs for the academic year 2024. This announcement marks an important opportunity for aspiring medical professionals to advance their careers through specialized education in one of Pakistans premier medical institutions.

KEMU Lahore Admissions 2024 encompass a variety of postgraduate programs aimed at developing expertise in medical fields. These include the MS Master of Surgery, MD Doctor of Medicine, and MDS Master of Dental Surgery, catering to a broad spectrum of medical and dental specializations. The Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department oversees these admissions, ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are selected.

To facilitate a transparent and merit-based selection process, KEMU will conduct the Joint Centralized Admission Test JCAT for MD, MS & MDS Admissions 2024. This entrance exam is a critical step for candidates seeking admission, as it evaluates their knowledge and readiness for advanced studies. The JCAT consists of two papers, each comprising 100 MCQs. Paper-I focuses on applied basic sciences and is common for all MD and MS specialties, while Paper-II is specialty-specific and tailored for each program.

Eligibility for these programs requires candidates to have completed an MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized institution, a one-year house job, and valid registration with the PM&DC/PMC. Candidates must also submit a valid CNIC/Passport and Domicile Certificate. The entrance test will be held on 27th October 2024, with passing marks set at 75%. Successful candidates will proceed to the interview stage, scheduled for 12th September 2024.

Prospective students are encouraged to apply online through the KEMU portal starting 26th August 2024, with the last date for application submission being 12th September 2024. The fee for the Specialty Based JCAT is Rs. 10,000, with a reduced fee of Rs. 6,000 for those with a valid pass result from a previous JCAT.
