Two New Universities Set to Launch in Karachi

Dr. Siddiqui disclosed plans to inaugurate two new art universities in Karachi this December. The National Textile University campus is scheduled to open on December 14, followed closely by the launch of the National Skills University campus within the same month. These initiatives are expected to create new opportunities for students and strengthen higher education in the region.

Future Plans for Mirpurkhas University Campus

In addition to the two universities in Karachi, Dr. Siddiqui shared that there is an ongoing initiative to set up a campus of a federal university in Mirpurkhas district by March next year. This new campus is expected to serve students from neighboring areas, including Sanghar, Umerkot, and Tharparkar. However, the Minister acknowledged challenges in securing land for this project, noting that some plots have remained unused for decades. Efforts are currently being made with federal authorities to address these land-related hurdles.

Commitment to Expanding Higher Education Across Sindh

Dr. Siddiqui reiterated the government’s vision to establish 20 new universities across Sindh province. This ambitious goal underscores the government’s commitment to improving access to quality education and providing students across the region with better academic opportunities.

Addressing Innovation and Progress at NUTECH Convocation

During the convocation ceremony of the National University of Technology NUTECH in Islamabad, Dr. Siddiqui stressed the importance of innovation, leadership, and dedication in contributing to the country’s progress. Speaking to graduates, he stated:

"The nation has fulfilled its obligation by providing you with quality education; it is now your duty to contribute to its progress. This country, founded on a distinct ideology, requires your efforts to build a brighter future."

Dr. Siddiqui also highlighted NUTECH’s increasing international recognition, emphasizing its unique position as Pakistan’s first "University for Industry." This role promotes collaboration between academia and the industrial sector, fostering innovation and practical learning for students.
