Honhaar Scholarship Program for BS Students in 2024

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the registration process for the Honhaar Scholarship Program has commenced. This initiative aims to support students with scholarships designed to meet the evolving demands of the global job market. Annually, 30,000 students will benefit from this program across 68 different disciplines. The scholarships will be awarded to students from 50 public sector universities, 16 medical colleges, and 131 graduate colleges. Additionally, merit-based scholarships will be extended to students enrolled in top private institutions such as LUMS, FAST, COMSATS, NUST, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, and seven other leading private universities. The deadline to apply for the Honhaar merit scholarship has been extended to October 18, 2024.

Scope and Impact of the Honhaar Scholarship

Over the next eight years, a total of PKR 130 billion will be allocated for this program. In the coming four years alone, 120,000 students will be supported by the Honhaar Scholarship Program, helping them to overcome financial barriers to higher education. This merit-based initiative is designed to provide talented students with the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams.

Eligibility Criteria for Honhaar Scholarship

To be eligible for the Honhaar Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Hold a domicile from any district in Punjab.

Be under 22 years of age by the application deadline.

Family income must be less than PKR 300,000 per month an affidavit is required; a sample affidavit can be downloaded.

Be enrolled in selected disciplines at the chosen universities/colleges during the fall session of 2024. First-year MBBS and BDS students in 2024 are also eligible for the program.

Meet the minimum academic score requirements as follows:

Medical Colleges: At least 80% in FSc.

Top Private Universities: At least 80% in FSc.

Public Sector Universities: At least 75% for Sciences and 70% for Arts and Social Sciences.

HED Colleges: At least 65% for Sciences and 60% for Arts and Social Sciences.
