HEC Scholarships for Students from Coastal Regions of Balochistan
Higher Education Commission HEC has announced undergraduate scholarships for students hailing from the coastal districts of Balochistan. These scholarships aim to support students from Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech Turbat, and Awaran who wish to pursue higher education in HEC-recognized public or private universities across Pakistan. The program, named the "Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship Programme for Balochistan," covers all fields of study. Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify:
- Hold a domicile or local certificate from Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech Turbat, or Awaran districts.
- Have completed 12 years of education with a minimum of 50% marks in both Secondary School Certificate SSC and Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC or equivalent.
- Both SSC and HSSC must be completed in institutions located within the defined districts of Balochistan.
- Students already enrolled in BS programs for a maximum of one academic year are eligible to apply.
- Applicants should not exceed 22 years of age as of the application deadline.
- Must fulfill HEC and university admission criteria for BS programs.
- Students availing of any other HEC or government scholarships are not eligible.
Merit and Selection Process
Scholarships 2025 will be awarded based on district quotas and merit. Key details of the selection process include:
- Shortlisting will be based on an Aptitude Test conducted by HEC and academic qualifications.
- A minimum of 50% marks in the HEC-conducted test is required to qualify.

Application Process for the Scholarship
Follow these steps to apply for the scholarship:
- Submit the application online through the HEC portal online. No hard copies of applications are required at this stage.
- Pay the application fee of PKR 500 via 1Link 1Bill service through participating banks, ATMs, internet banking, mobile apps, EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or UPaisa.
- After payment, click the "Verify Online Payment" button on the HEC portal.
- Complete the application form and submit it online. Partially completed or saved applications will not be considered.
Important Deadlines and Notes
- The last date to apply for the HEC Scholarship 2025 is February 7, 2025.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute issues and to stay updated via email or the HEC website.
- HEC reserves the right to cancel or delay the scholarship process at any stage without providing any reason.
