Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this program, applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

Must be a Pakistani/AJK national.
Must have an MS/MPhil or equivalent 18 years of education.
Age must not exceed 45 years at the time of application.
Should be a full-time, regular faculty member of a public sector university or Degree Awarding Institution DAI.
Must have a minimum of two years of consecutive teaching experience at the current university.
Academic performance requirements:
- At least 60% marks in the annual examination system or
- A CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the semester system.
Must have a valid HAT/GRE General Test score with at least 60% passing marks from May 2023 to May 2025.
Ineligibility:
- Candidates already enrolled in a PhD program before Spring 2024.
- Those receiving other HEC/government/university scholarships.
- Visiting or adjunct faculty members are not eligible.

Application Process

To apply for the Faculty Development Program, follow these steps:

Online Application:
- Visit the HEC Scholarship Portal: https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/
- Complete and submit the online application form.
- No hard copies or additional documents are required at this stage.
Processing Fee Payment:
- Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- through 1Link 1Bill Invoice at designated banks, ATMs, or via mobile/internet banking.
- Select 1Link 1Bill Invoice payment in your mobile banking app.
- Enter the consumer number generated by the HEC portal and complete the transaction.
- Confirm payment status on the HEC application portal.
Final Submission:
- Ensure all information is correct before submission.
- After submission, an acknowledgment receipt will be generated.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are evaluated based on three key factors:

Academic Merit – Calculated using HEC’s Academic Evaluation Formula.
Test Scores – HAT/GRE General Test results contribute significantly to selection.
Interview – Conducted by subject experts to assess applicants’ suitability.

The National Scholarship Management Committee NSMC will make the final selection decisions.
