Department of Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a decision to extend the winter vacations for primary schools by seven days. This decision is prompted by the severe weather conditions, ensuring the safety and well-being of students. Notification Details:
A formal notification has been issued by the department, announcing the extension of winter vacations specifically for primary schools. This extension applies to both public and private primary schools in the summer zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The revised schedule indicates that the winter vacations will now continue until January 13, 2024, acknowledging the prevalent cold weather conditions.
Revised Opening Date for Primary Schools:
Primary schools, which were originally scheduled to reopen on January 8, will now resume classes on January 15, providing an additional week for the weather to moderate. This decision aims to ensure a safer and more comfortable return for primary school students.
Changed Timings for Middle, High, and Higher Secondary Schools:
While middle and high schools are set to reopen on January 8 as per the original schedule, there is a modification in the operating hours. For a one-week duration, starting from the reopening date, these schools will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. After this one-week period, the schools will revert to their previous timings.
This decision reflects the commitment of the Department of Education to prioritize the safety and well-being of students during challenging weather conditions.
