A Level Fees in Pakistan 2023

A Level Fees in Pakistan 2023

Parents and students in Pakistan have shown their grave concern after Cambridge Assessment International Education CAIE announced a 16% increase in exam registration fees per subject for its upcoming examination series. CAIE, a UK-based provider of international qualifications widely relied upon by Pakistans private education sector, has faced backlash from 85,000 students and their families who are struggling with rising inflation.

Local reports indicate that the fee increase will affect standard O’ Level 10th graders taking Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat, and Urdu exams, costing them around Rs. 10,000 per session. Meanwhile, 11th graders taking five subjects, including English, Mathematics and the three natural sciences, will face an increase of almost Rs. 15,000 per session. A-Level students will also be affected, with the total fee increase for three standard natural science subjects around Rs. 6,000. The parents and students can view A-Level Fees in Pakistan 2023.

Parents have expressed disappointment with the fee hike, highlighting that Pakistan’s public education system is not equipped to provide internationally recognized qualifications. Some have questioned why they must spend extra money on private foreign education if the country had a superior education system.

Education experts in Pakistan have also criticized CAIEs monetary policies, arguing that they are implemented without considering the specific socio-economic circumstances within the country. They say this greatly multiplies the financial burden on students and their families.

Responding to the backlash, CAIE stated that their fee in Pakistan is the lowest in the world and that the increase was necessary to maintain the quality of their programs. The organization claimed to be aware of local economic conditions in Pakistan and said that the increase in fees was much less than the prevailing rate of inflation.
