21 Pak Universities Excel in THE Young University Rankings 2023

In an outstanding display of academic prowess, 48 Pakistani universities have made their mark in the Times Higher Education THE Young University Rankings for 2023. Among these, 22 institutions have received official rankings, while the remaining 26 have been acknowledged as reporters on the list. Remarkably, 21 out of the 22 ranked universities have secured positions within the top 500. The reporter status is assigned to universities that have provided the necessary data for evaluation but did not meet THEs eligibility criteria to receive a formal ranking in the 2023 list.

Leading the charge among Pakistani universities on the THE Young University Rankings is the University of Management and Technology UMT. Notably, UMT is closely followed by Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and COMSATS University Islamabad.

THE Young University Rankings recognize the worlds best universities that are 50 years old or younger. The rankings employ 13 performance metrics across four key areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. These criteria align with those used in THEs World University Rankings. The 2023 edition showcases 605 universities from 78 countries.

Nanyang Technological University Singapore secures the top spot in this years rankings, with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ranking second and Paris Sciences et Lettres - PSL Research University Paris securing the third position. Hong Kong boasts the highest number of institutions within the top 10, while France holds the most positions in the top 20.

In terms of overall representation, Turkey stands as the most prominent nation with 47 universities, followed by India with 45 institutes, and the UK with 39 universities.
