About Punjab Workers Welfare Board Wwf

Punjab Workers Welfare Fund is the corporate body, which was established under Punjab Workers Welfare Fund Act 2019. The governing body is consisted of the representatives of the government, workers and employers and it provides holistic package of services to the industrial workers including death grants, marriages grants, talent scholarships, and operation of workers welfare schools in different districts of Punjab. PWWF has different departments like Administration & Welfare, Education, Finance and Works and the administration & welfare branch provides the welfare grants to workers, who work in industries, mines and it must be registered under relevant act or law and the organization, which pay 2% contribution under section 4 of the Workers Welfare Fund Act 2019. Under this department, the death, marriage grants and talent scholarships are awarded to the employees.

The Directorate of Education has maintained its network of 69 workers welfare schools in different districts of Punjab and these schools are established in 20 different districts of Punjab. They provide free education to the boys and girls from primary to higher secondary levels free of cost to the enrolled workers students. This directorate also provides free shoes, uniform, books, stationery and transports to the students and it is also expanding and upgrading the level of education by the setting up new schools.
