About Higher Education Department
Higher Education Department was established with the objective to provide the services of education, learning and services for students, teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges and universities in government and private sector across Punjab province. HED has strong network of field offices, who work for compliance of executive decision and this institute has the vision to promote development of enlightened and prospecting by reinforcing knowledge by focusing on equitable and quality learning. This department was set up with the mission to improve quality of teaching, research and innovation, enhancing creativity and promote equity, access and social cohesion. This department has the responsibility for the improvement of higher learning at the MPhil and PhD in the universities and also provides the scholarships to the deserving but talented and eligible candidates so that they can continue their learning and pass their exams.
HED has maintained its priorities, which are focusing on the establishment of Knowledge Park Lahore, Bio Park/Science Research Park at provincial metropolis and organizes international education expo. This department also carries out the inspection of colleges, college teaching interns initiatives, revise and reform educational curriculum, celebration of tax day, anti-corruption day, faculty development program and improve quality assurance services and assure prompt capacity building or provision of missing facilitation in the institutes. HED offers the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen scholarships, online college admission system, Punjab Education Endowment Fund, Online College Admission System, Laptop distribution, establishment of new exams centers, initiative for faculty Improvement and Provision of Missing Facilities to the colleges.
