The foundation of Cadet College Palandri was laid in response to the aspirations of the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir AJ&K. Approved by the Government of Pakistan in 1973, the institution was envisioned alongside similar establishments in Larkana, Sindh, and Mastung, Balochistan. The initial years involved significant groundwork, including land acquisition and project design by M/S Allied Engineering Consultants, Lahore. However, financial constraints delayed progress until its revival in 1987 under the dedicated efforts of Lt Col Retd Muhammad Naqi Khan.
The formal foundation stone was laid on January 22, 1990, by the Prime Minister of AJ&K, marking a turning point in the college’s journey. The institution commenced its academic activities on September 15, 1998, following the concerted efforts of its Board of Governors, who ensured everything from infrastructure to recruitment was completed in record time.
